Introduction

Valtis is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful and welcoming environment for all members of our community.

While Valtis is primarily a network for developers, creators and technical communities, we recognise that online communities may include younger members and individuals who may be vulnerable in certain circumstances.

This policy outlines our commitment to safeguarding and the actions we may take to protect community members from harm.

Unacceptable Behaviour

The following behaviour is strictly prohibited:

Grooming

Any attempt to manipulate, exploit or establish inappropriate relationships with minors or vulnerable individuals.

Exploitation

Any behaviour intended to take advantage of another individual for personal, financial, emotional or sexual gain.

Harassment

Repeated unwanted contact, intimidation, threats or behaviour intended to cause distress.

Sharing Harmful Content

Distribution of exploitative, abusive, illegal or harmful material.

Solicitation of Personal Information

Requesting sensitive personal information where there is no legitimate reason to do so.

Circumvention

Attempting to bypass safeguarding measures, moderation actions or reporting processes.


Reporting Concerns

Anyone may report a safeguarding concern.

Examples include:

Reports should be submitted through official Valtis reporting channels wherever possible.

Reports made in good faith will be treated seriously.


How Reports Are Handled

Where appropriate, Valtis may:

Not all reports will result in visible action, but all credible concerns will be assessed.


Confidentiality

Safeguarding information is handled as confidentially as reasonably possible.

Information may be shared where necessary:

Absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed where safety concerns exist.


Emergency Situations

If a situation presents an immediate risk to life, safety or wellbeing, members should contact local emergency services or appropriate authorities without delay.

Valtis should not be relied upon as an emergency response service.


Protection of Younger Members

Valtis expects all members to interact appropriately with younger community members.

We encourage:

False or Malicious Reports

Reports should be made honestly and in good faith.

Knowingly false, malicious or abusive reports may result in moderation action.

This provision does not apply to genuine concerns reported in good faith, even where an investigation concludes that no policy violation occurred.


Review and Updates

This policy may be reviewed and updated periodically to reflect changes in community operations, legal requirements or safeguarding best practices.

The most recent version will always be available through official Valtis channels.

Where appropriate, reports may be reviewed by authorised members of the Valtis leadership team.
