Discord Community Policy

Introduction

This policy applies to all users participating within the official Valtis Discord server.

By joining or participating in the server, you agree to follow this policy, the Valtis Community Guidelines, the Valtis Acceptable Use Policy, and Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

The purpose of this policy is to maintain a professional, welcoming and collaborative environment for Minecraft developers, creators and technical communities.

Respect Others

All members are expected to treat others with respect.

The following are not permitted:

• Harassment or bullying.
• Hate speech or discrimination.
• Personal attacks.
• Intimidation or threatening behaviour.
• Deliberately disruptive conduct.

Debate and disagreement are acceptable when conducted respectfully.

Appropriate Content

Content shared within the server should be appropriate for a professional community environment.

Members must not share:

• Illegal content.
• Malicious software.
• Explicit or pornographic material.
• Graphic or disturbing content.
• Content that violates the rights of others.
• Material intended to facilitate unlawful activity.

Spam and Self-Promotion

Reasonable project promotion is welcome within appropriate channels.

Members must not:

• Send unsolicited advertisements.
• Mass mention users.
• Flood channels with repetitive content.
• Use automated systems for spam.
• Promote unrelated services excessively.

Staff may remove promotional content that is considered excessive, misleading or disruptive.

Developer and Project Sharing

Valtis encourages members to showcase projects, plugins, mods, tools and resources.

When sharing projects:

• Represent your work accurately.
• Respect intellectual property rights.
• Credit contributors where appropriate.
• Avoid misleading claims or deceptive marketing.

Voice Channels

When using voice channels:

• Be respectful of others.
• Avoid excessive background noise where possible.
• Do not intentionally disrupt conversations.
• Follow instructions from moderators and staff.

Recording voice conversations should only occur where all relevant participants are aware and applicable laws are respected.

Direct Messages

Members should respect personal boundaries.

Users must not:

• Send unwanted messages repeatedly.
• Harass users through direct messages.
• Use Valtis membership to target individuals outside the server.

Reports relating to Discord direct messages may be reviewed where they impact community safety.

Staff and Moderation

Valtis staff are responsible for maintaining community standards.

Staff may:

• Remove content.
• Lock channels.
• Issue warnings.
• Apply temporary restrictions.
• Remove users from the community.

Members are expected to follow reasonable moderation instructions.

Public arguments regarding moderation decisions may be redirected to private channels or appeals processes.

Tickets and Reports

Support tickets, moderation reports and safeguarding reports should be submitted honestly and in good faith.

Members must not:

• Abuse reporting systems.
• Submit knowingly false reports.
• Use tickets to harass staff or other users.

Safeguarding

Valtis takes safeguarding seriously.

Any behaviour that may place a member at risk, particularly younger members, may result in immediate moderation action and, where necessary, referral to appropriate authorities or platforms.

Users must not:

• Engage in grooming behaviour.
• Solicit personal information from minors.
• Encourage unsafe interactions.
• Share exploitative content.

Discord Bots and Automation

Members must not use bots, scripts or automated systems to:

• Circumvent moderation actions.
• Spam channels.
• Harvest user information.
• Disrupt server operations.

Approved automation may be permitted where authorised by Valtis staff.

Enforcement

Violations of this policy may result in:

• Content removal.
• Warnings.
• Muting or communication restrictions.
• Temporary suspension.
• Permanent removal from the server.

Serious violations may result in immediate action without warning.

Policy Updates

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in community operations, Discord requirements or legal obligations.

Continued participation in the Valtis Discord server constitutes acceptance of the latest version.
