Community Guidelines
Last Updated: 17 June 2026
Welcome to Valtis
Valtis exists to support Minecraft developers, creators, server owners and technical communities.
Our goal is simple: create a place where people can build, learn, collaborate and share ideas without the drama, hostility and low-quality noise often found elsewhere.
These guidelines are not a list of punishments. They are the standards we encourage everyone to follow to help keep Valtis welcoming, professional and enjoyable.
Be Respectful
Treat others with respect.
We welcome people of different backgrounds, experience levels and opinions. Healthy discussion and technical debate are encouraged, but personal attacks are not.
Disagree with ideas, not people.
Assume Good Intent
Most mistakes are exactly that: mistakes.
Before jumping to conclusions, give others the benefit of the doubt and seek clarification where appropriate.
Patience and understanding go a long way in technical communities.
Support Learning
Not everyone is an expert.
Some members may be publishing their first plugin, learning Java for the first time, or building their first server.
Help people improve rather than making them feel unwelcome for asking questions.
Share Knowledge
One of the strengths of Valtis is collaboration.
If you know the answer, consider helping. If you've solved a problem, consider documenting it. If you've built something interesting, consider sharing it.
Communities grow when knowledge is shared.
Keep Feedback Constructive
Feedback is valuable.
When reviewing projects, resources or ideas:
- Explain your reasoning.
- Offer suggestions where possible.
- Focus on improvements.
- Remain respectful.
"Here's how this could be improved" is far more helpful than "this is bad."
Respect Creators
Creating software, resources and documentation takes time.
Respect the effort others invest in their work, even when providing criticism or identifying problems.
Give credit where it is due.
Maintain Professional Standards
While Valtis is a community, many members use it for serious development work, collaboration and networking.
We encourage:
- Professional communication.
- Accurate information.
- Honest representation of projects.
- Responsible development practices.
Keep Content Relevant
Help keep discussions organised and useful.
Use the appropriate channels, categories and forums where possible.
Occasional off-topic conversation is natural, but community spaces should remain focused on their intended purpose.
Protect Privacy
Respect the privacy of others.
Do not share personal information, private communications or sensitive details without permission.
If someone chooses not to share personal information, respect that decision.
Help Keep Valtis Safe
If you encounter behaviour that concerns you, particularly where safeguarding or member safety may be involved, please report it through the appropriate channels.
Creating a safe environment is a shared responsibility.
Remember Why We're Here
Valtis exists to support people building interesting things.
Whether you're developing plugins, creating mods, managing infrastructure, designing resources or contributing to community projects, you're welcome here.
Build great things. Help others do the same.
Independent. Collaborative. Community Driven.
Welcome to Valtis.
